The article considers the problems of quality of education in the context of actualization of personal motivation for learning. The direction of motivation to selecting a line-oriented behavior. Considered are the possibilities of practical application of existing procedural theories of motivation in the learning process of students: theory expectations Century Vroom, J. a theory of justice. Stacy Adams and extended model of expectations porter-Lawler. Shows the reasons why students are in the area of inefficient training (category theory of «X» on the concept of Douglas McGregor) and transition in the area of efficiency (category theory «Y»). It is proposed to use in the system of higher education of the theory of supply purposes.
