Reserves and prospects for improving the deposit insurance system

In this paper, the systematization funding mechanisms and sources of deposit insurance systems substantiated advantages, disadvantages of each, and the prospects for their use in Russia. Sufficient attention is paid to the modernization process of setting contribution rates at a level that will provide for the financial needs of the deposit insurance system and encourage proper risk management in banks. We have also argued advisability introduction in Russia of a differentiated system of assessments of the risk to mandatory deposit insurance fund, and the main criteria to facilitate the development, organization and continuous improvement of such a mechanism.
