In the article by conducted a retrospective analysis of the main indicators of innovation development макротерритории considered on the example of the North-Caucasian Federal district, the main trends and problems of implementation and development of innovations in the study area; the distinctive features of economic development of the Federal district; analysis of the basic indicators of inno-vation regional development in comparison with the average indicators.
