The paper considers the nature and role of households in regional innovation economy, defined by their main function; highlights the main characteristics of the household as a multi-purpose facility of regional management, outlines the key requirements for the concepts of household economy, highlighted features of life of rural households in the region, presented recommendations for improve the management of rural households as a regional socio-economic subsystem.
