Globalization of the national economy starts from its liberalization

The paper discusses topical aspects of liberalization of the Russian economy, showing the need to address social problems of the country. The author’s position regarding the nature of economic liberalization is stated; liberalization of the economy in the context of globalization is treated as a new area of cross-country competition; evidence for the effectiveness of a liberal economy is provided. The Russian economic history is regarded as the history of failed liberalization.The paper shows that developing economies evolve through rapid liberalization. The author reveals threats to liberalization of the Russian economy and concludes that economic liberalism will inevitably triumph.
