The management mechanisms of innovative development typical for Russia are considered in the article. The article reveals that empirical data confirm the fact that management centralized institutions were often effective in the Russian society. A theoretical explanation of efficiency of such institutional mechanisms is justified from the standpoint of the institutional matrices theory.
